Add income while a later month is open is saved on the 1st of that month. The description keeps the date you added it. A custom date is used instead when you set one.

Income tax calculator
A free income tax calculator is on the website. Pick a tax year from 2010 to 2027, type monthly or yearly taxable income, and it shows the tax each month, take-home pay, your SARS bracket, and how much more a month reaches the next bracket. The tax table for that year sits under the calculator. It is an estimate, not a SARS assessment.
Salary converter
A free salary converter is on the website. Type monthly, hourly, daily, weekly, fortnight, or yearly pay and the other rates update as you type, including a minute and a second. Hours a week start at 40. It is before tax.

Before there was an app
Budjinga started as Excel. Then another spreadsheet. Then a bigger one. Income, bills, savings, balances, reconciled by hand. When the files got too heavy to live in, the web app grew out of that habit.
